Nucelis LLC is a metabolic engineering company in San Diego, CA, leveraging our proprietary gene editing tools to construct commercially useful strains of microorganisms, as well as the development of optimized fermentation and chemicals processes to take maximum commercial advantage of these organisms. The goal is to deliver high quality, sustainable, specialty ingredients across several industry segments (personal care and nutrition). We are also working closely with our sister division, Cibus US, to explore a significant opportunity to develop new versions of canola that generate unique oils. The oils will be tailor made to be convertible to key monomers that can be used to make sustainable bio-polymers. These bio-polymers are of significant interest to a number of major international brands who want to make their entire supply chains sustainable and renewable.
We need a chemistry competent, energetic person who can do the necessary market research work on the bio-polymers of interest to the industry and to the brands, the required target monomers ( volumes and value) and then work back to establish which canola oils are required. The work will also include an initial cost assessment to establish the commercial feasibility for each oil to monomer process.
This market research underpins a very exciting opportunity for our company which supports overall global trends of sustainability and greening of the planet.

- Strong ability to effectively interface with and extract information from third party companies
